The Healing Box Project is a local guitar program which takes place at the Truman Veterans' Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Dave and CJ Dunklee founded The Healing Box Project in January of 2016 after being inspired by a similar, national program which also provides veterans with musical instruction. The Dunklees express the importance of music therapy and how it has had such a positive affect on veterans who are living with post-traumatic stress. The guitars used for the classes are provided through donations from the community and if a guitar cannot be used The Healing Box finds a way to re-purpose it.
